Hats off to Silambarasan for continuing the good run of his Manmadhan in Vallavan. A triangular love-story with twists and turns has been brought out well by the actor-director. Vallavan has excellent cinematography combined with racy background score making it for engrossing viewing.

Silambarasan occupies the screen all through, while Reema Sen has impresses all eve with her limited screen space. Nayantra and Sandhya do their best.However, the real hero of the movie has been Yuvan Shankar Raja. His peppy numbers and brisk musical score help sustain the momentum in the movie.

Amidst campus candy floss movie, Simbhu has dished out a forbidden kind of love story that happens among school students.The movie begins with a college student Vallavan (Silambarasan) falling in love with a professor Sandhya (Nayantra). Desperate attempts to impress her succeed. But Vallavan hides the truth that he is a student and three-years younger to Sandhya. Later, Sandhya, coming to know the truth, decides not to go ahead with her plans to marry a youth, who is younger to her.

Meanwhile a flash back reveals Vallavan’s romance with a classmate Geetha (Reema Sen). A hysteric Geetha ensures that Vallavan runs crazy behind her. Coming to know of her true nature, Vallavan resolves to teach her a lesson.Geetha returns one fine day only to inform Vallavan that she was the one who played spoilsport in the affair between him and Sandhya to teach him a lesson. The remaining story is about attempts of Vallavan to marry Sandhya but with Geetha going hammer and tongs to prevent it.

Silambarasan has utilized the opportunity well to glorify himself. He boasts himself uttering lengthy dialogues. But the man sure has oodles of energy and is a livewire all through.
Nayantra plays his lady love. Sandhya as Silambarasan’s friend has played her part well. Reema Sen, whose character resembles Neelambari of Padayappa, does what is expected of her. She even takes to arms to take revenge Silambarasan. She is, overall, very convincing.

The rest of the cast including Santhanam, S Ve Shekher fits well.

Priyan’s cinematography deserves a mention. His lens has captured the song sequences well. As we said, Yuvan is the backbone of the movie.

The story is about Sanjay Ramaswamy (Surya), a rich businessman and the events surrounding his relationship with Kalpana (Asin).

Kalpana, an advertisement model goes around telling her advertisement crew that she is the love interest of Sanjay. She does this inspite of she never meeting him and also goes to an extent of giving an interview about her relationship to a popular magazine. Sanjay happens to hear about this through the media and wants to settle scores with her. On his way, he catches a fleeting glimpse of a young woman (who happens to be Kalpana) helping handicapped children to cross a street. It is love at first sight for Sanjay. He moves on the confront Kalpana at her advertisement studio. He is pleasantly surprised to realize that she is the same helpful woman he saw a while ago. He chooses to hide the fact from her that he is Sanjay. Kalpana eventually falls in love with him.

Once, while on a train to Mumbai, Kalpana saves a group of young girls from abuse by a group of goons. After a few days, the same goons come to Kalpana's house in order to avenge their embarrassment. Incidentally, Sanjay arrives at the scene and fight off the goons, but during the ensuing fight, Kalpana is murdered. The irony showcased is that Kalpana never finds out that he is Sanjay. The dacoits strike the downcast Sanjay on his head severely with a metal rod. Sanjay survives the blow, but suffers from a short-term amnesia. At any given time, he does not remember anything that happened more than 15 minutes back. He determines to take revenge from those responsible for Kalpana's death. The rest of the story is about how Sanjay goes about finding the goons despite his memory loss.

Anbuselvan (Surya), Sethu, Ilamaran and Srikanth are young straightforward IPS officers.

Expectedly, the ruthless, hardcore villains put up a stiff resistance and life turns topsy-turvy for the quartet. Unwittingly Maya (Jyotika) becomes the target of underworld kingpin Pandia (Jeevan). Her romance and later marriage to Anbuselvan put her in great peril.

"Kaakha Kaakha" is just another story of vendetta. But the treatment and the characterisation make it commendable.

Jyotika looks ravishing in the role of a responsible schoolteacher who falls in love with Anbuselvan. The pair has an appealing screen presence.

Jeevan, the "University" hero, is the proverbial Evil pitted against Good. His voice that is very different from a villain's strident decibel level makes an impact.

Harris Jeyaraj's score for "Kaakha Kaakha" has already been acclaimed a hit. R. D. Rajashekar's camera is a visual delight.

Anbuselvan's life in flashback, in the first person commentary form gets monotonous at times. Gautam could have added a couple of more ways to unfold the hero's past. And how come an astute officer like Anbuselvan fails to see through Srikanth's sudden change in behaviour?

"Kaakha Kaakha" is for action lovers who believe in logical storylines and deft treatment.
